TEDxCUNY April 5 2019 New York
Adrian Turcato gave his talk "Buildings are for People" at the event titled 'What Matters Now' presenting individuals seeking out more than themselves, while encouraging others to do the same across different disciplines. TEDxCUNY was formed in July 2013 out of the strong belief that a public academic institution as large and as diverse as the City University of New York needed a platform for spreading ideas and discussion. The team received its license in 2014. Adrian describes his climate engineering approach and the principles he follows, when developing comfort concepts. He presents in detail the Karl Miller Center at the State University Portland, where the atrium of the new added building designed by Behnisch Architekten is 100% passively cooled.

"green & sexy" is the title of Thomas Auer's presentation. He claims “not to be a superhero who can save the world” but talks about the importance of design to make the built environment more sustainable. As a climate engineer he strives to have an impact, reducing the CO2 emissions caused by buildings to fight climate change. Do you know good examples where design is key to sustainability?
