ASHRAE TECHNOLOGY AWARDS CASE STUDY: Promega Kornberg Center

Built in 2021, Promega Kornberg Center, named after the Nobel Prize-winning biochemist Arthur Kornberg, supports product and technology development in life science research, cellular and molecular biology, genetic identity, clinical diagnostic and scientific applications as well as a training center. The three-story Kornberg Center’s energizing architectural design bridges office and meeting spaces with advanced laboratories to foster collaboration and connection, inspiring inventive thinking and continued scientific advancement. The 280,000 ft² (85 344 m²) building, located in Fitchburg, Wis., co-locates seven research and development groups dispersed throughout the campus into one building, with the design strongly emphasizing occupant comfort, air quality, building performance and energy conservation.
