Bayalpata Hospital in rural Nepal serves up to 100,000 annually

Health and hospitals are currently on everyone's lips, but this contribution in Metropolis Magazine about Sharon Davis’s Bayalpata Regional Hospital really stands out. The article talks in detail about the 70-bed hospital, a partnership between the government of Nepal and nonprofit organization Possible Health, which serves an estimated 100,000 visitors a year, many of whom walk the single access road for as long as six days to receive care. Construction material turned into a critical issue after the earthquake in 2015, bringing the building process to a complete halt. Creative solutions made finalization possible. We were part of the design team and responsible for the sustainability aspect of the design, which was a nonnegotiable component for Sharon Davis.
