Steven Holl Architects & Rüssli Architects have won the design competition MÉDECINS SANS FRONTIÈRES. The significant façade gives the Geneva Operational Center of the MSF a visible motto: Colors of Humanity
Transsolar takes responsibility for the energy efficiency and uses the architects unique, colorful façade design as a strategy to achieve two objectives. Firstly, to provide shade internally and secondly, to generate electricity. The panels which make up the façade photovoltaic glass modules manufactured with perforation and in many vibrant colors. With additional modules on the roof collectively 72% of the buildings electrical power will be generated. Construction is due in spring 2019.
