POINTS OF VIEW – Technology Takes Command:
Intelligence is central to Carlo Ratti's architecture biennale in Venice. Now that we can rely less and less on the climate, we need buildings that can adapt to the environment, is Ratti's central thesis. AI and sustainability technologies play a crucial role in fit suitable environments for human activities. This once again poses the question for architects as to how they relate to new technologies and their turbulent development. Do they embrace the new forms of life that these technologies enable and produce, or will they scale back technologies share as much as possible?
We have asked architects to explain, using a project as an example, how they envisage the relationship between architecture and technology, tradition and modernity, insight and intelligence.
