At Transsolar we believe that buildings can act as carbon sinks by incorporating sustainable materials that naturally store carbon throughout their lifecycle, such as timber, hemp, and wood fiber.
We have committed to support TREEO in their ongoing efforts to establish best practices, where strategic investments support local communities with reforestation projects and with creating a culture where in the future the harvested trees will be used for sustainable applications such as biochar production or timber construction.
TREEO provides trusted voluntary CO2 removals, mobilizing farmers to help reverse climate change. The initiative connects balancers with tree growers worldwide to reliably remove CO2 from the atmosphere.
While we recognize that carbon accounting for biological sequestration is a topic of ongoing debate, we have thoroughly reviewed and support TREEO’s robust methodology and tracking system, which ensures these carbon offsets are of the highest quality. They are bringing credibility and transparency to the voluntary carbon market and their vision is to empower millions of farmers worldwide to supply the world with high-quality carbon dioxide removals at scale.
We have invested in a pool of projects in Uganda, which include AEE-U, Delight Uganda Limited, and Axis Warriors. All of these projects aim to deliver high-quality Carbon Dioxide Removals (CDRs) through the afforestation of degraded lands while supporting community livelihoods. Read more here>
