The bike station opposite the main train station is being built on the area between a smaller lake, the park and the bus station. A gastronomy pavilion with a terrace, a workshop and a rental for e-bikes as well as public restrooms are part of it. The underground structure offers space for 1,100 bicycles, accessible via a spacious ramp.
Transsolar designed the ventilation, energy and comfort layouts for the city's “symbol of the new mobility concept” in order to meet the city's requirements with regard to CO2 neutrality. Further goals are robust building technology and low operating and maintenance costs. A high level of user comfort should be ensured for all common areas, primarily through passive measures. The facade concept is optimized for summer and winter comfort as well as optimized daylight availability in the usage areas.
In combination with the coordinated building services concept, the building's demand for heating, cooling and operating electricity will be reduced as much as possible. The technical equipment is to be kept to a minimum.
The team is developing the energy supply concept together with the client, with the goal of making the building climate-neutral in operation. A photovoltaic system installed on the roof covers the electricity demand from the building's operation and compensates for the CO2 emissions from the district heating supply.
