Krista Palen with BEAToronto | Women of Limberlost

Transsolar Partner Krista Palen recently co-led a tour of Limberlost Place at George Brown College for BEA Toronto (Building Equality in Architecture Toronto), together with Moriyama Teshima Architects and George Brown College. The tour highlighted the building’s integrated environmental and low-carbon design strategies, including its high-performance mechanical system, prefabricated façade, engineered natural ventilation, and mass timber structure.

The project exemplifies how deep collaboration and creative problem-solving can deliver ambitious sustainability goals. The event also underscored the vital role of women in driving innovation and advancing environmentally responsible design.

BEA Toronto is a volunteer-run organization of architects, designers, leaders, and entrepreneurs dedicated to community-building, advocacy, networking, and mentorship. By empowering women in the design community, BEA Toronto aims to enrich architectural practice, improve the quality of the built environment, and ultimately enhance the human experience.
