On the Nature of Thermodynamic Models in Architecture and Climate

September 19th, Paris Versailles: Nadir Abdessemed gave a key note lecture at the Design Modelling Symposium in Paris Versailles.

Nadir’s lecture was on “Thermodynamic Models in Architecture and Climate”. He shared some valuable insights from his work at Transsolar and spoke about various projects involving micro-climatic models of both physical and virtual nature. While thermodynamics is a complex field, it can yet describe our built environment very accurately - at least in theory. Nadir therefore discussed the question: “What is a good model?” and related that question to an array of design questions where thermodynamics help understand and shape our environment in the context of climate and architecture.

The paper that came with the key note will be published in a book
