The Solar Decathlon India (SDI) is the world's largest net-zero building challenge. It enables students to explore innovative, cost-effective, and market-ready solutions.
Over 170 student teams participated in the 2024-25 edition. Elise Rousseland Ayush Kamalia attended the final event of the nine-month competition in Mysore, India. As a jury member, Elise attended the presentation of the finalist teams for "Educational Buildings." Along with her fellow jurors, Saket Sarraf and Samit Bhowmick, she chose Team Nirmaan as the winner and Team Samavet as the runner-up. Read all about the winning teams >
The 'Climate Smart Innovation Exhibition' and 'Career Fair' took place alongside the competition. These events provide an opportunity for exchange, bringing together architecture and engineering students and construction industry professionals who are addressing climate change and working to promote sustainability and climate protection. At the 'Career Fair', Elise and Ayush manned a booth to meet students interested in Transsolar's work.
We look forward to deepening and sustaining our collaboration with Solar Decathlon India in the years to come.
