Gymnase Jules-Le-Cesne, Le Havre, France

The Jules Le Cesne High School scholar gym includes a large multisport room with climbing wall and two smaller multi-use rooms. The main target was to get very low consumptions and the easiest solutions to run the building.
After discussion with the client, the users and the team, Transsolar came up with a highly insulated envelope reducing internal gains and enhancing northern daylight, conditioned with heating radiant panels, no active cooling and time-based controlled natural ventilation: openings at both north and south façade are automatically opened and closed to flush the whole air volume of the multisports hall at fixed hours in between each lesson.
